Frequently Asked Questions

  •    Do I need an appointment to be seen?

While we do try and accommodate walk-ins and toothaches, it is always better to make an appointment. Call our office to see if we can schedule you same day.

  •    Does Five Star Dental take Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, or Delta Care?

At this moment we only take traditional or PPO insurances. We are a Preferred Provider with Aetna, Cigna, Delta, MetLife, United Healthcare, Humana, and Guardian.

  •   Do you see children?

At Five Star Dental we are able to see children 8 years old and older. Prior to this age we recommend that they see a Pediatric Dentist because their tools and equipment are designed to fit in their mouths' comfortably.

  •  Are X-Rays Required?

In the state of Florida X-rays are a required diagnostic tool. This is why our office takes X-rays yearly or a new X-ray if you are having a specific problem. Without the X-rays we cannot see what is happening inside of the tooth or check for cancer within the jaw.

  • Are Dental X-Rays harmful?

It is true high amounts of radiation are harmful to your health but dental X-rays are relativity low when compared to other forms of radiation. An example of this is that Dental X-rays only expose you to 2 mrems while a flight from New York to LA exposes you to 5 mrems. To learn more please see the graph bellow.
